I was doing some tidying up and found my stash of sci-fi mags. Not a huge collection, I've only bought a dozen or so over the last four or five years. Anyway, I had a quick flick through and became a little nostalgic for our pilots and then I realised something. You see, despite the final season's attempt to retcon Kara and Lee's relationship that left many 'shippers wondering what the frak happened and was it all in their minds and how could they have misunderstood where it was all going, a tiny perusal of a few old magazines reminded me pilots were one of the show's main promotional tools. Starbuck and Apollo were a set pair. Where one went the other followed. From the word go the audience was conditioned to see Kara/Lee as one of the main pairings, if not the main pairing and even when their storylines diverged and new love interests were introduced, every article still devoted a section to the K/L relationship asking both Katee and Jamie for their current views and any insights or hints they could give fans.

I guess this post could be seen as a reminder of more evidence of season four fail and an object lesson from RDM on how not to follow through, but I thought it would be fun to share the collection of magazine covers and article pics to prove it wasn't in anyone's imagination.
